Seville has been working for months to become a“smart city”, (a smart destination), where technology and innovation are put at the service of tourism and its other industries.

“Technologies are going to be increasingly important in the management of the tourism sector and not only for companies, but also for administrations when managing, for example, queues and capacity at monuments and museums or real-time data to channel tourist flows or manage public space”, explains the municipal delegate for Tourism, Antonio Muñoz.

"In this new stage, the smart destination concept will gain great importance, in addition to sustainability, security and confidence for tourists ".

The safety of the destination is presented as the essential element of the new tourist identity of the city of Seville.

The Seville City Council has collected more than 800 proposals of 200 entities and individuals.

From now on, eight experts from the plan's advisory council will analyze them and agree on a final document that will be presented in mid-June and that will be the compass to redirect the city towards its economic recovery.
