Concert at Casa Pilatos. Sweet Torment.

The Ducal House of Medinaceli Foundation, Cultural gears and music duo Dolce Rima, have designed a special program "Dolce Torment", where we can relive the Golden Age through musical notes in the main courtyard of the palace. Before and after the concert the ground floor and gardens will open for attendees to enjoy the nightlife of the palace.

The title alludes we have used the iconic "If è il dolce torment" of Claudio Monteverdi, "The father of the melodrama", which is met this year 450 anniversary of his birth, but mostly it is an allusion to an entire artistic impulse to the great Italian artists of the early seventeenth century add, following the innovative line (modern or second prattica) composer of Cremona.

So, in these parts are the contradictory feelings of a silent lover who would rather die than reveal their passionate love; reproaches to child and harmless appearance of the cruel Cupido; the enjoyment that produces the suffering of love ... all with music in the service of text whose purpose would be to delight and move the affections of the listener at that time; challenge that we, as interpreters of these pages, we intend to maintain today.
