Seville and the reunion with La nao “Victoria” in the Guadalquivir

La nao ‘Victoria’, replica of which completed the circumnavigation of the earth in 1522, opens to the public to publicize the feat of Magellan and El cano.

After 18 months of work, la naoVictoria 500 arrived in Seville on 3 March crossing the Guadalquivir, towed from the Punta Umbría shipyard (Huelva) who saw her born thanks to the work of 60 professionals.

To the ship's hull, it lacked masts and railings that the carpenters of the riverbank placed when the ship was anchored in front of the Torre del Oro, at the Marqués de Contadero pier.

Last 11 March, the Nao Victoria Foundation had everything ready to open the boat to visitors. The ship, already wooded, It has an exhibition inside that explains life on board and the vicissitudes through which its 45 crew.

After almost three months of waiting, la naoVictoria 500, with their 27 meters in length and 7,70 meters of sleeve, has finally opened to the public.

 the intention of both the City Council and the Port of Seville is for it to remain permanently on the quay.

To visit it, the security measures dictated by the health authorities apply as a maximum capacity of 60 people and a predetermined route, allows to know elements of the ship such as the pinzote, from where ships were ruled until the mid-18th century, prying on the tiller, which allowed to control the course without losing sight of the sails.

For the visit you would have to make an appointment online, because the capacity is limited and the use of masks is mandatory.
