Christmas Mapping ‘Navigalia’ will illuminate Seville in 2023

Seville prepares to receive a unique Christmas experience with the mapping show “Navigation”, which will take place at the Muelle de la Sal on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. The event is a collaboration between the Seville City Council and Acciona Cultural and will offer three daily passes to the 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 hours from 20 December at the Salt Pier.

The area designated for this dazzling mapping covers a space of 4.250 square meters and a capacity of around 12,500 people. Comparatively, This space is significantly larger than the Plaza de San Francisco, which used to host Christmas events in previous years.

“Navigation” promises a magical experience by telling the story of a special place that until now has been kept secret: the dock where the Three Wise Men disembark every year in Seville with a very special cargo. The show has an estimated duration of approximately twelve minutes and presents a Christmas story narrative.

The soundtrack will play a fundamental role in the experience, with amazing sound effects that will enhance 3D video compositions. The narrative will be guided by a voice-over that will accompany the different characters. It will also be accompanied by a carefully selected soundtrack with Christmas and fantastic connotations..

The mayor of Seville, Jose Luis Sanz, has expressed interest in rescuing mapping for Christmas. Plan to make changes to Christmas lighting next year. This year, The lighting will remain the same as before due to a current two-year contract. Christmas lights will illuminate 287 streets of the city and will remain lit until the night of 6 January.
