The City of Seville It is a monument of beautiful architectural forms. It was created under Charles I, March of 1526 when he married Isabel of Portugal. Seville was the maritime and commercial capital of Spain and the world. The emperor found in very poor condition the Seville council that was in the Corral de los Olmos, next to the Cathedral. In this way, Carlos I ordered to construct the building where then were the fishmongers in fishmongers, they were in a more central and representative place.

The architect Diego de Riano would, goticista Tardio, and the works lasted from 1527 up 1534. Throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were carried out various works that removed parts of the original building while new bodies were added after the demolition of the convent of San Francisco Casa Grande. The last Variation of the building took place two years before the celebration of the Quincentennial. He tried to return to the initial shape. In the area of the XVI century the mayor's office was altered and cleaned the facade. The built in the nineteenth century was the part that suffered more changes and fixes, among which I try to separate from the area of the sixteenth century to restore its classical conception.

Today we can see a magnificent architectural ensemble. The front door of the town hall is oriented towards the Plaza Nueva and interior highlights the presence of the lobby, Benvenuto Italianate tortello footprint in the chapel of the building, Consistory Room, Chapterhouse Baja, the Columbus Room, the staircase or the beautiful Renaissance dome of the architect Hernán Ruíz.
