Seville: 20 de Julio reopen visits to the cathedral and the Giralda

The Cathedral of Seville and the Giralda reopen to the cultural visit, in small groups, From next monday 20 July.

With six daily groups of up to 50 people each, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays of each week.

The Cathedral expands its cultural offer of unique visits, started on 1 July, and “reaffirms its willingness to work from a management in accordance with a new reality that harmonizes the dissemination of heritage and visitor demand., with security guarantees ".

"The priority will be the safety of the attention staff and that of the visitors".

This is the maxim that presides over the Cabildo's decision, in such a way that the Giralda-Cathedral is a "safe space".

The visits will be carried out with the company of the same Cabildo staff, in groups that will not exceed 50 people.

In three time slots, with simultaneous access of two groups at ten, a quarter to twelve and a half.

The entrance will be made through the doors of the Lagarto and the Campanilla, as indicated when making the purchase.

The ticket price maintains the official rate prior to confinement due to the coronavirus:

  • General admission: 10 €
  • reduced admission: 5 € (pensioners and students up to 25 years old)
  • Free for natives or residents of the Archdiocese of Seville, minor 14 years accompanied by an adult, disabled with a companion and unemployed.
  • The price of the audio guide is 4 €.

To ensure the safety and protection of employees and their visitors there will be:

  • Body temperature control in all accesses.
  • A specific cleaning protocol for visitor areas, with special emphasis on the Giralda, that will be disinfected after each visit.
  • A "rigorous maximum capacity" and controls of social distance will be established.
  • The use of a mask will be mandatory throughout the visit
  • There will be hydroalcoholic gels at the entrances and the climb to the Giralda.
  • There will be signs and the assistance of two members of the Cabildo staff for each group to answer questions and remember the safety and hygiene measures.
