Programming of the municipal libraries of Seville. September 2021

The Municipal Network of Libraries of Seville, dependent on the Institute of Culture and the Arts (ICAS) of the Seville City Council, hosts more than thirty activities during the month of September. These proposals, in which the family audience plays an important role, are framed in the programming that will be developed in the 14 Municipal public libraries with the aim of encouraging the reading habit among citizens and promoting the book through different formats.

In this calendar will have a prominent weight storytelling as "initiatives that connect with the oral tradition of storytelling, so fundamental in the literature"; cultural-literary itineraries, "That add value to the reading experience "; and the conferences “referring to literature and its genders, the works of new and established authors, the history of the city, socialization, to gender equality ... ", has specified the delegate of Urban Habitat, Culture and Tourism, Antonio Muñoz.

In the library Alberto List of 27 to the 29 September is going to hold a show didactic in which, through a curious and fun contest, they will meet the most important data of the great feat that Magellan and Elcano carried out. The recipients are school groups of 2nd and 3rd Cycle Primary Education and 1st ESO and there are sessions scheduled at 10.30 and 12.00 hours.

In the library Blas Infante the day is scheduled 23 an activity that has the purpose delve into what is considered by many to be one of the greatest Spanish novels of the 19th century, ‘The Pazos de Ulloa’, while in the library St Geronimo the days will unfold 17, 24 and 29 of September storytelling sessions.

Regarding the Cerro del Águila Library, two activities are planned that, low the title ‘Sevilla del Underground’, will tackle the days 21 and 28 of September the history and impact of the Triana group.

Similarly, day 23 a literary route homage to Fernando Mansilla that, directed by David Montero, will travel some of the places in which the action of the novels is situated, stories and poems of the aforementioned author. The music, as a mini-band of horns and drums, it will be put by Luis Navarro, habitual accomplice of the poet.

The programing of the The Columns Library during the month of September the day 3 with a day dedicated to the training of users, on morning schedule, and in the afternoon an activity aimed at family audiences: 'Between shelves there is no nonsense'. In later days, will be held different proposals aimed at the little ones such as ‘A telephone and a typewriter', day 10; 'Peaks and branches', day 17; and ‘The museum of the fantasy', day 24. Similarly, day 13 September will develop a poetic encounter for the adult audience, coordinated by María Caballero Wangüemert.

The library The postmen offers the days 1 and 8 September two activities with the mythology as a plot line; and the day 22, a session in which a walk-through analysis of environmental benefits, architectural, social and healthy that vertical gardens offer.

That same day, in the Luis Cernuda Library the poet, writer and editor David Eloy Rodríguez will carry out a contextualized analysis of a selection of books with which it is intended to help the audience to think about the concept of "classic" in literature. Regarding the programming of the San Julián Library, This frames the first session of the Isabel Gallego conference cycle on literature written by women (day 27). Finally, of 20 to the 23 September the Torreblanca Library will provide training for users and online users and encouragement to reading adapted to Primary Education students to train and publicize what is in the library and how they can use it, hand in hand with Wisdom, character that will accompany the students to discover the mysteries of the library, awakening smiles and motivating to read.
