Claimed by the new flamenco stars like Miguel Poveda and Rocío Márquez- and locked in a intense activity, Jose Antonio Carmona Carmona (Granada, 1944), known in flamenco universe, simply, Pepe Habichuela, is presented at the Teatro de la Maestranza enjoying the sweet moment of what we might call a "second youth" in full celebration of its 60 year career, wrapped by an exciting gathering of friends and musical accomplices, as well as they establish links with its flamenco tradition and heritage, open doors to evolution that tradition may suffer in the future.

For Pepe Habichuela, heir of an aristocratic dynasty on guitar and flamenco art known as "Carmona", It is already a sort of "patriarch" of an instrument that accompanied both Juan Valderrama as shrimp or Enrique Morente, to name three key names in the evolution of contemporary flamenco. Grandson of "Old Habichuela", son of Joseph and brother of Carlos Carmona, Luis and Juan Habichuela great, Pepe Habichuela is, turn, father and uncle of the members of the group Ketama. His extensive artistic experience and puts it at the legendary Torres Bermejas tablao of Madrid in the mid 60 -with some 20 years old- to turn after the first flamenco artist who recorded for the label or New Media, already in 2014, the artist at the Berklee College of Music in Boston said "Master of flamenco".

Milestones of a race also marked by an extraordinary musical curiosity that led him to collaborate with jazz musicians like Don Cherry, Jaco Pastorius and Dave Holland, who asked him to record- or India, Crystallized disk "Yerbagüena", junto a los Bollywood Strings.

At its meeting in the Maestranza, Pepe Habichuela will share the stage with his son, the extraordinary guitarist, Josemi Carmona (Madrid, 1971) and Dani de Morón; singers Peter the Granaíno, Antonio Campos and Kiki Morente; Bandolero, percussion; the dancer Alba Heredia; and the special collaboration of Rafael Riqueni.
