China begins testing its coronavirus vaccine

China has approved to start testing its coronavirus vaccine in humans.

The vaccine developed by the West China Hospital of Sichuan University in Chengdu.

The Chengdu city government has indicated that the use of insect cells to grow proteins for the coronavirus vaccine, could speed up large-scale production.

The vaccine, has already been tested on monkeys and has been shown to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infections without obvious side effects.

Chinese scientists are already working on at least eight other potential vaccines that have already entered different stages of clinical trials..
