XXXIV EDITION FEMAS. EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL OF SEVILLE. MUSICA NOVA. BAROQUE VESPERS

22 Concerts make the official program of an edition that will offer, after being appointed Best Music Festival in Spain, great musical milestones hand premier interpreters.

Artefactum on previous dates will devote three days to FEMAS announce the arrival city festival with free concerts in the streets and plazas of Seville.

Ramón Andrés, Francesc Cortés, Israel Sánchez, José Mendoza and Felix de Azua star in the lecture series 'Listening Compromised'.

Concerts Accademia 1750 and The Real House They are a co-production between FEMAS and the National Dissemination Center Musical_CNDM.

From 17 March to 8 April 2017, Sevilla hosts the 34th edition of FEMAS, Early Music Festival Sevilla, National Dean in his specialty. The festival seeks hispalense historical approach music to the public of the city carrying the musical interpretation hand heritage sites of leading figures of international prestige. This feature makes the Sevillian appointment a special and unique experience music lover.

Great musical milestones for opening and closing

For its 34th edition, under the theme 'Musica Nova. Baroque Vespers', the festival has managed a program that integrates 22 concerts are at the height of his prestige, since the Ancient Music Festival in Seville 2015 It was considered by the Association of Spanish Groups Early Music (EGG YOLK) as the festival with best practices and all programming developed in Spain. Special mention the opening and closing concerts that will bring two monumental milestones in the history of baroque music, opening and closing of their religious genre. So the day 17 March Festival with Vespers of the Virgin of Monteverdi opens, which will be performed at the Parish of the Magdalena, while 8 April will the St. Matthew Passion Bach, which pervade the auditorium of the Teatro de la Maestranza. Both pieces are respectively served by two of the larger European sets, those who have made music their hallmark: Concerto Italiano conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini and Collegium Vocale Gent directed by Philippe Herreweghe.

Next to the Parish of the Magdalena and the Teatro de la Maestranza, this edition of the Festival will also take place in emblematic enclaves of the city as the Convent of Santa Clara (Bedroom Alto), the Church of San Alberto and S. I. Seville Cathedral (holy Church), which together with Turina space totaling 6 different spaces that guarantee perfect acoustics and enjoy every concert of the festival. Auditoriums with Maestranza and Turina, again this year FEMAS church scenarios, heritage high capacity environments were mostly designed for the interpretation of sacred music and are ideal to host musical offerings of larger format than in previous editions.
