Shadow of your shadow

Not only do we exist through life. When you're a creator, when you're a genius, your creation remains forever. Stop being matter and your essence is suspended in the air, must be beautiful. Must be beautiful die knowing, day after day, someone will revive your memory, will pronounce your name, it will whisper your tune ... It must be beautiful to remain perpetual in time. Eternal eternal things ... As, as things are there, in the same place where they are often the things that do not move, they are still there when you are deselected. There is Paco. Fixed, immovable, and the firmament, as the horizon, as those things that give us the north. Decomposed matter, Ephemeral and Effervescent, fleeting and expires, is the essence. Left their mark, is its shadow, and its shadow, his legend grows. Paco is there where things that should never leave are.

Choni Cía. Flamenca brings a proposal born of sincere tribute to the shining path that leaves any star to fade. Diving into his work and rescue the musical subconscious of the viewer our collective memory of Paco is the goal. Rhythmic choreography is the challenge. Join with remnants of his essence and shadow is the pretext. If I could approach you through your chair ...

We all need to say GOODBYE/ADIÓS

"Life is not only addition and subtraction. Is also accumulating, multiplication, loss, of failure ".
Julian Barnes

"We All Need To Say Goodbye / GOODBYE" is one that deals with themes of loss. It is a visual interpretation based on the movement of the things that are lost, and things that are obtained. The site-specific version of this work is part of a broader process of research that explores the intersection of dance and flamenco performance Live, images and video creations. Several different versions of this work have been created and submitted from 2011, including several performances, well as an independent short film. The music is the result of a collaboration between musicians from Calgary, Canada, flamenco guitarist David Matyas and experimental percussionist Chris Dadge. Different songs were created by manipulating the traditional sounds of flamenco guitar and percussions combined with different and unknown sounds. “We All Need To Say GOODBYE/ADIOS” se ha hecho posible gracias al generoso apoyo del Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Banff Centre y EMMEDIA Gallery and Production Society.
